The Story Behind Urbana Perry Park

Amani Collective Living is located in Brunswick’s historic Urbana Perry Park community, a neighborhood with a long tradition of family, faith, education, entrepreneurship, and civic leadership.

For generations, Urbana Perry Park has been home to educators, ministers, business owners, skilled tradesmen, public servants, and community leaders who helped shape Brunswick’s cultural and civic identity. At one time, the neighborhood supported numerous locally owned businesses, grocery stores, restaurants, laundromats, churches, schools, and community gathering places that served residents for decades.

This neighborhood has produced and been home to multiple elected officials, community advocates, educators, and civic leaders who contributed to the growth and development of Brunswick. Community involvement remains strong today through the Urbana Perry Park Neighborhood Planning Assembly, where residents, property owners, and local leaders continue working together to improve and preserve the neighborhood.

This home carries its own special story.

The property was formerly owned by Mrs. Dora Mae Bryant, a respected member of the community whose legacy is still remembered by neighbors today. When the opportunity arose to restore the home, it became more than a renovation project. It became an opportunity to preserve a piece of neighborhood history while creating a place that continues to serve others.

As someone with deep family roots in Brunswick, we felt a responsibility not only to renovate the property but also to honor the spirit of community that has defined this neighborhood for generations.

‍ ‍Today, Amani Collective Living carries that mission forward by offering safe, professionally maintained housing for Veterans, healthcare professionals, corporate employees, and FLETC workforce members who come to Brunswick to serve and support the community.

We believe housing should be more than a place to sleep. It should provide comfort, dignity, stability, and a connection to the community you temporarily call home.
